NOAA Fisheries Releases Critical Habitat Designation For Lower Columbia River Coho

Final rules designating critical habitat for two Northwest fish species – lower Columbia River coho salmon and Puget Sound steelhead – were released Wednesday by NOAA Fisheries. The final ruling includes about 2,300 miles (3,701 kilometers) of freshwater and estuarine habitat in Oregon and Washington for the coho, and about 2,031 miles (3,269 km) in Puget Sound for the steelhead.
