Washington Dept of Ecology seeks NEP Project Lead (Bellevue or Lacey, WA)

The Shorelands and Environmental Assistance (SEA) program is looking to fill a NEP Project Lead to Protect and Restore Puget Sound Watersheds (Environmental Planner 4) position. This position could be based either out of our Northwest Regional Office in Bellevue, WA or at our HQ Building in Lacey, WA. The location of the position depends on the successful candidate.

This position will be responsible for overseeing, managing and coordinating the activities in the National Estuary Watershed Protection and Restoration Grant Agreement between Ecology and the EPA. This includes implementing the “watershed framework” and restoration and protection actions/strategies to restore Puget Sound ecosystems. This position oversees and manages sub awards under the NEP Watershed grant. This position will serve as the principal point of contact for the Watershed Protection and Restoration grant. The incumbent is expected to represent the interests of the Department of Ecology SEA and Water Quality Programs and the Department of Commerce in meetings with other lead agencies, advisory committees, the Puget Sound Partnership (PSP), and EPA.

We are looking for applicants who have excellent communication skills, strong relationship building skills, are detail oriented, able to multi-task, and who enjoy working in a fast paced environment. Previous budgeting experience would be a plus.
