USFW seeks Supervisory Fish Biologist (Portland, OR)

This position is located in the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service's Regional Office in Portland, OR. The incumbent serves as the Chief of Fisheries Operations, responsible for ensuring the continuity and integration of operational and technical support systems.

Major Duties include:

Coordinates Regional Fishery Operations programs and provides support for regional and national aspects involving field operations and functions.

Supervises staff responsible for management and implementation of Region 1 (Oregon, Idaho, Washington, Pacific Islands) fisheries operational programs.

Helps develop Regional Fisheries deferred maintenance and construction budgets.

Coordinates with field stations on budget issues and submissions related to deferred maintenance, construction and other fishery operations activities.

Represents the Program Managers and/or Assistant Regional Director-Fisheries in interagency coordination with states, federal agencies, and others.

Coordinates implementation of the Fisheries Program environmental compliance programs. Works directly with Project leaders, state and Federal regulators, to ensure field station compliance under federal, state and local guidelines and permits.
