The Nez Perce tribe seeks Project Leader

The Nez Perce Tribe Dept. of Fisheries Resource Management Watershed Division is recruiting for: PROFESSIONAL V – PROJECT LEADER HR-15-138 full-time regular. Candidate will join a highly professional and experienced team and be responsible for promoting, implementing, and advancing a ridge-top watershed/aquatic ecosystem restoration, protection and monitoring effort that is critical for fisheries restoration, Nez Perce Tribal treaty resources, and all people. Project area/watershed(s) in-clude the Lochsa River and tributaries. The position will be station in Lapwai, ID and Powell, ID. This position will develop, update, and implement short and longer term goals and strategies and be respon-sible for seeking grants and managing contracts, statement of works, and budgets. Knowledge and ex-perience with watershed data analysis and interpretation, project planning and design, implementation, and associated monitoring is required. Requires a high level of coordination with private, local, state, federal, and tribal entities. Applicant must be highly motivated and have excellent communication skills, both oral and written, and report writing. Requires a Bachelor’s degree in related field (Master’s pre-ferred). Related field and/or course work requirements defined in job expectations. Require five (5) years professional level experience (three years experience with Master’s degree); two (2) years of supervisory experience; knowledge and experience with experimental study design, statistics, fish or wildlife population dynamics and modeling or habitat restoration is required. Pre-employment drug testing required. Applicant must possess a valid driver’s license with the ability to be insured under the Tribe’s policy. This position closes 5/1/15. (Grade 22)
