The Nez Perce Tribe Department of Fisheries Resource Management-Watershed is recruiting for two positions to include: WATERSHED RESTORATION SPECIALIST(S) I HR-14-164 and WATERSHED RESTORATION SPECIALIST(S) II HR-14-165 both position are full-time regular based in McCall, ID. These positions will join a highly professional and experienced team working on restoring and protecting aquatic ecosystems and watersheds critically important to fisheries restoration, Nez Perce Tribal treaty resources, and all people. These positions will participate in all aspects of watershed/aquatic ecosystem protection and restoration projects that include data collection/analysis, GIS analysis, assessments, project design/cost-estimates, permitting, contracting, project implementation, monitoring and evaluation, and grant writing. Field duties include leading field work logistics/planning/crews. Typical projects include restoring fish passage, stream/riparian/floodplain restoration, reducing road related sedimentation, mine reclamation, and invasive weed control. Position requires coordination with private, local, state, federal, and tribal entities. Applicant must be highly motivated and have excellent communication skills, both oral and written, and report writing. The Watershed Restoration Specialist I (Grade 17) requires a Bachelor’s degree in the field of watershed sciences, fisheries biology/resources, hydrology, natural resources, or other closely related field. The Watershed Restoration Specialist II (Grade 19) requires a Bachelor’s degree (Masters Preferred) in the field of watershed sciences, fisheries biology/resources, hydrology, natural resources, or other closely related field, three (3) years of professional level experience (one (1) year experience with Masters Degree), and one (1) year supervisory experience. Both positions require a valid driver’s license with the ability to be insured under the Tribe’s Policy. (If your driver’s license is not issued from Idaho; a Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) from the state your driver’s license is issued, is required with your application). These positions close 7/14/14.
