WORLD SALMON COUNCIL: World Salmon Council, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in Portland, Oregon, works to educate, engage and empower local communities in wild salmon sustainability. World Salmon Council’s Salmon Watch environmental program educates middle and high school students about the importance of wild salmon conservation in watershed management. Administered by World Salmon Council and its partners, Salmon Watch includes teacher and volunteer training, classroom instruction, streamside field trips, and community service projects.

SUMMARY OF POSITION: The Education Intern will assist the World Salmon Council’s Executive Director in coordinating numerous aspects of the Salmon Watch program in the Portland metro and the mid-Columbia Gorge areas, both in the office and the field. Responsibilities will include assisting with educational field experiences, classroom visits and service learning projects, organizational events, outreach and communications, and other duties as appropriate.
