The Nez Perce Tribe Department of Fisheries Resource Management-Research is recruiting for: FISHERIES TECHNICIAN(S) II HR-13-187 One full-time seasonal position and Two full-time permanent. To participate on a variety of research monitoring and evaluation projects based out of the Sweetwater and McCall office in Idaho and the Joseph office in Oregon. Positions will be required to assist with adult steelhead escapement status monitoring in Joseph Creek or life cycle Chinook monitoring in the Imnaha River and/or Johnson Creek. Responsibilities include: installation, operation, and maintenance of the resistance board weir or juvenile screw trap, trapping of adult and juvenile steelhead and Chinook, collection of biological information, PIT tagging, floy tagging, electronic data recording, redd counting, assisting with reading of DIDSON sonar files and underwater video files, and computer data entry and quality control. Additional duties include; supervising filed crew, and database management (entry, quality control, transfer and summaries). Requires first aid and CPR certification (obtain and maintain). Requires High School Diploma/GED, two (2) years of college education (48 credits). Three (3) years of relevant experience is equivalent to one (1) year of college. Requires three (3) years of related experience to project needs and one (1) year supervisory experience. Requires a valid driver’s license with the ability to be insured under the Tribe’s policy.
