Incumbent assists project biologist in designing, implementing and evaluating multiple stream restoration treatments within the Methow sub-basin. Treatments consist of physical habitat restoration, nutrient enhancement and the removal of nonnative (brook trout) fish. Assessing the effects of separate and additive restoration techniques on Upper Columbia ESA listed fish (Spring Chinook and Summer Steelhead) is the primary project focus. Evaluation occurs through aquatic food web monitoring with the goal of measuring production at separate trophic levels. Incumbent will be involved in all levels of projects tasks including, field sampling, data management and analysis, report writing, public and professional presentations, administrative tasks and grant writing.
