EPA Region 10 Climate Change TMDL Workshop - June 25, 2012

We'd like to extend an invitation for you and any interested colleagues to join us on Mon., June 25 for a workshop in Seattle to look at how to integrate climate considerations into a temperature TMDL. We will be focusing on a pilot TMDL project on the South Fork of the Nooksack River here in Washington, and featuring guest speakers & discussion panels (Amy Snover, Nate Mantua, Dan Isaak, Ben Cope, Alan Hamlet, Teizeen Mohmadali, Stephanie Brock, & Tim Beechie) to help us understand the climate impacts, modeling tools, and data available to integrate climate change into our temperature TMDL model. The TMDL pilot project team has members from EPA Region 10 & EPA Office of Research & Development (Corvallis Lab), WA Dept. of Ecology, the Nooksack Tribe and the Lummi Nation.

You can attend in person (please RSVP to Schary.Claire@epamail.epa.gov) or attend via webinar (joining instructions below).

Here are three sets of instructions for how to join us on June 25th:

For those coming to our Seattle office, the workshop is in 15-NPQ. We will start promptly at 8:30 am, so please plan on arriving before the meeting starts. Outside visitors should try to arrive by 8:15, since you will need to check in at the 12th floor Visitors Service Center first, and then wait to be escorted up to the 15th floor. If you have not been to our offices before, here is a link to a map and instructions for parking (also found on EPA Region 10's website at http://www.epa.gov/aboutepa/region10.html).

Food and Beverages. Coffee will be provided for the morning session, for which a small cash donation is appreciated. Please feel free to bring additional breakfast food or snacks. For lunch, we will request attendees to bring their own lunch or pick up lunch at one of the nearby locations, such as One Union Square. Attendees will have 30 minutes to pick up lunch and bring it back for a working lunch panel.

For those joining by video teleconference (VTC), I have arranged for EPA's Boise Operations Office and EPA HQ's Office of Water (in ARN Room 7530) to be connected. We will start those connections sometime between 8 and 8:15 am Seattle time (11-11:15 am Wash DC time), so it would be good to have someone in the room a little early to let us know it's working. I will run the GoToWebinar software through the VTC connection, so you don't need any other computer screens or conference call lines in the room (if everything goes smoothly!). If you have any problems with your connection during the meeting, please call Hope Herron on her cell phone at 225-772-4863. Joining via webinar is also your back-up option if the VTC doesn't work.

For those joining by computer (GoToWebinar): PLEASE REGISTER AT LEAST 30 MIN. BEFORE THE START TIME.
