Webinar on Identifying Cold Water and Salmon Habitat, June 27, 10-12pm,

Join us for a Webinar on Wednesday, June 27 from 10a-12p PDT: "Where in the World is That Cold Water: Protecting Salmon Habitat"

Thermal diversity and cold water are crucial for salmon habitat, but it can be challenging to find when and where cold water refuges are in a stream. In February 2012, EPA published the report, "Primer for Identifying Cold-Water Refuges to Protect and Restore Thermal Diversity in Riverine Landscapes." Join the authors of this report for a presentation and discussion of the tools for identifying cold water areas in streams and rivers and on-the-ground approaches for protecting and restoring thermal diversity. The presentation and discussion are aimed at local, state, and federal agencies, Tribes, and watershed groups looking to protect thermal diversity for salmon.

Speakers: Christian Torgersen, USGS; Joe Ebersole, USEPA; and Dru Keenan, USEPA.
