Douglas Muchoney to Present Observations on Forests and Water, Wed., Nov. 17

Douglas M. Muchoney, senior scientist for the U.S. Geological Survey and former technical forestry consultant for the U.S. Peace Corps in Niger, will present “Earth Observations on Forests and Water,” on Wednesday, November 17, at 4 p.m. in Knight Library’s Browsing Room. Muchoney will explain recent trends in conditions of forests and water in a global context. His talk is part of GIS Day events being held throughout the world on November 17.

From 2006 to 2010, Muchoney was the senior scientific expert for the Group on Earth Observations (GEO), in Geneva, Switzerland. GEO is a voluntary partnership of governments and international organizations working on sustainable development issues.
