The Department of Fish and Game is seeking a Geographic Information System Analyst Senior to join the Idaho Fish and Wildlife Information System (IFWIS) team at their Headquarters in Boise.

The successful GIS Analyst Senior will be an IFWIS team member within one of the premier natural resource agencies in the country. They will employ their wide range of GIS skills to further our agencies mission to “…preserve, protect, perpetuate, and manage” their wildlife resources. This team member will support the development and maintenance of agency databases, enterprise GIS, mobile data collection efforts, and numerous Web GIS applications. Their approach is unique as their staff are often given the opportunity to visit many locations within the State of Idaho where they can collaborate with biologists and build professional relationships along the way.

Responsibilities:

-Plans, designs, and oversees geographic information system (GIS) projects to support wildlife management and conservation.
-Work collaboratively with IDFG biologists and data managers to design, implement, and maintain databases and applications to
support a variety of projects.
-Provide geographic information services including, but not limited to, map making, spatial analysis, and process modeling.
-Experience working with ArcGIS Desktop, ArcGIS Server and Web GIS.
-Analyzes, defines, models, implements, and maintains spatial and tabular databases.
-Trains users in GIS software, spatial analysis, and related technologies.
-Coordinate use of GIS Data within the Department, related agencies, and business partners.
-Comfortable scripting repetitive tasks to improve efficiency.
-Stay current with new technology and trends in the GIS industry.
