First Call for Contributed Presentations for PNW Society for Ecological Restoration & Society for Wetland Scientists 2018 Joint Conference

The Society for Ecological Restoration Northwest Chapter and the Society of Wetland Scientists Pacific Northwest Chapter invite presenters for the 2018 joint regional conference, Restoring Resilient Communities in Changing Landscapes. This conference will be held October 15-19, 2018 at the Davenport Grand Hotel in Spokane, Washington. The conference highlights the intersection between the practice and science of ecological restoration and ecosystem management in the Cascadia Bioregion, along with a broader continental perspective through participation of the North American Chapters of SER. They invite contributed presentations on topics that are of interest to a regional and wider continental audience of practitioners and scientists of ecological restoration and ecosystem management.

The conference is planned to include the following thematic topics:

* Wetland ecology and management
* Ecological resilience
* Community engagement
* Global change and restoration planning
* Restoration for migratory species
* Connecting and restoring conservation corridors
* Tribal perspectives of restoration and ecosystem management
* Aquatic restoration and management
* Wetland restoration, mitigation, and planning
* Sage-steppe ecosystems

Presentations that address their conference themes are especially welcome, although other restoration and aquatic-focused topics relevant to the Pacific Northwest Region are also encouraged. They encourage presentations that include scientific research or restoration case studies, or which encompass social, cultural, and economic aspects of ecological restoration and management.

The conference will include three days of plenary and concurrent sessions. Workshops and field trips will be scheduled before or after the technical sessions. Presenters should plan on speaking for 15 minutes and reserving 5 minutes to answer audience questions.
