OWEB announces Fall 2017 Open Solicitation Grant Cycle

OWEB is now accepting online applications for the Fall 2017 Open Solicitation Grant Cycle for the following grant types:

-Restoration
-Technical Assistance
-Stakeholder Engagement
-Monitoring
-Land Acquisition
-Land Acquisition Technical Assistance

These grants support voluntary efforts by Oregonians to protect and restore healthy watersheds, including actions in support of the Oregon Plan for Salmon and Watersheds and the Oregon Comprehensive Wildlife Conservation Strategy. OWEB anticipates making over $8 million available through this solicitation. Funding is from Oregon Lottery revenue and federal Pacific Coastal Salmon Recovery Funds through the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.

There are a few changes to highlight in this solicitation:
Technical Assistance grants are now capped at $75,000 instead of $50,000 and are for the purpose of planning and design necessary for restoration.
Stakeholder Engagement replaces the former Outreach category and, in keeping with Measure 76, includes outreach necessary for carrying out eligible restoration and acquisition projects. Education projects are not eligible.
Stakeholder Engagement also includes projects to engage landowners with the goal of implementing restoration or acquisition projects in the future. These projects were formerly included under the Technical Assistance category as TA-3 Landowner Outreach.

OWEB is pleased to introduce a new grant offering this cycle: Land Acquisition Technical Assistance. This grant offering is specifically intended for, and limited to, technical work for assessing the restoration potential of converted and impaired tidal wetlands that applicants later intend to purchase with OWEB acquisition funds.
